Tom-Williams Removals runs a highly regarded team of experienced, courteous and enthusiastic men who have all been trained in-house. Each team is carefully selected and briefed prior to moving your home and monitored by the office.

THE MOVE

Customers are not expected to pack anything. Appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers and fridges will be disconnected and reconnected at your new home. All your possessions will be meticulously packed using our custom-made packing materials before being loaded onto your removal lorry for delivery to your new property, or to our warehouse for secure storage.

*China and Glass is wrapped individually by our professional packers .
*Advice can be given on the transportation of household pets.
*Hanging garments are placed into "railed" wardrobe boxes to ensure they are protected during storage, and they arrive in perfect condition.
*Linen is packed flat in boxes and stacked in the removal lorry.
*Mattresses are placed in sleeves to keep them clean and tidy.
*Items can be dismantled and vulnerable items can be individually packaged prior to being moved or put in storage.
*Even household plants are not overlooked and are carefully packed in the removal truck.

All furniture will be unpacked, positioned or reassembled in your new home as directed by yourself. All packing boxes will be placed in the appointed rooms to be unpacked at your leisure.

*As soon as you know you are going to move house begin to plan your removal - if possible at least three weeks before your moving date. Do not wait until exchange of contracts, quite often this can be the same week as your completion date.

*Some thought should be given to fixtures and fittings that you may be taking with you. If you would like Tom-Williams removals to arrange the disconnection and reconnection of any hard wired electrical appliances we can arrange this to be done on the day of your move.

*Let us know of any access issues that the new property may have so that arrangements can be made in advance. Tom-Williams boasts a large fleet of modern removal lorries, should access be a problem then we can often supply smaller vehicles that will be able to get close enough to your new home.

*Often we are asked to split a delivery passing some furniture onto family and friends. This is quite a common request and makes sense to do it whilst the removal company is planning your move with you.

*Preventing the moving chain from breaking may mean moving out of your home if you have a buyer, and putting your goods into storage until you are ready to move into your new home. This is a simple and cost effective way of completing the moving chain which could otherwise fall apart and leave you back to the beginning again.
